NOTICE
Attestation of Public (Non-Commercial) documents
India is one of the signatories to The Hague Apostille Convention. The new scheme was implemented in India on 29-8-2007. The very purpose of the Convention is to reduce the two stage authentication of public documents to one single stage. If a public document is apostilled by the country of origin, (in this case Ukraine) it does not require re-authentication by the authorities (Embassy of India, Kyiv) of the country in whose territory it has to be produced, provided both the countries are party to the Apostille Convention. With India's and Ukraine's accession to the Convention, re-authentication of public documents (non-commercial) by the Embassy is therefore no longer required.
