Restrictions on carrying satellite phones to India

People traveling to India should be aware that satellite phones cannot be imported into the country, including as cargo/checked-in baggage/hand baggage without license from the Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Government of India. Any such unlicensed satellite phone found in the possession of a person or imported as a cargo without a proper license from DoT is liable to be confiscated at the point of entry.


Swine Flu

  • Travellers to India from countries affected by Swine Flu (H1N1 influenza virus) may be required to undergo screening on arrival in India and possible quarantine/hospitalization, in case any symptoms associated with H1N1 virus are detected.
  • At this time Ukraine is listed as a country affected by the H1N1 virus
